JKM Expands into Commercial Gas Sector
A leading Aberdeen construction and maintenance firm has expanded into commercial gas. JKM has grown this part of the business to cope with increased customer demand in the commercial sector. The company, which carries out property refurbishment and maintenance, has six domestic gas engineers as part of its highly skilled team of trade specialists.
With an increasing number of commercial customers JKM recognised a need to provide a more tailored gas service to their existing clients. As a result one of the company’s engineers, Chris Tosh, has undergone specialist training for commercial gas certification. Chris has been with JKM for around eight years and with this advanced qualification the company can now offer installation, servicing, testing and commissioning works in commercial gas.
JKM Managing Director Jim Mitchell said: “We work with a lot of commercial customers and they were always asking us to install, test and service larger gas appliances so we listened to the needs of our customers and trained one of our engineers so we could provide them with the service they wanted. Branching into commercial gas expands JKM even further ensuring we can continue to provide a full service for both the commercial and domestic sectors.”
Founded in 1990, JKM’s reactive maintenance team specialises in emergency, planned and preventative repairs, offering a guaranteed response service as well as an out-of-hours critical response service all year round. As part of that service the company has skilled domestic gas engineers but commercial gas pipe work, with much larger appliances such as warehouse heating systems, boilers and catering equipment, is much more complex.
With one engineer trained in this specialist area the company is now looking to increase the number of commercial gas trained engineers in the next six months to cope with continually increasing business. |
